duplicated contact.

Hello all I have a problem, I have multiple contact. The contact have like 10 of the same. Under the multiple contact that are the same it say "com.Facebook.auth.login.
Can some one please help me in making my contact normal (i don't want to link all 10 same contact to one ) I have re set my phone many times and still the same problem
Please help

I had this problem with only two of my 75 facebook contacts so I just linked them. I don't know if it was the facebook update or Froyo. It was super annoying though!

Are you using contact from Google? If so, go online and edit them. There is a merger feature available.

If not using Google Contacts, export them and then fix them. AC has an article on this, see http://www.androidcentral.com/importing-and-exporting-contacts

This is also a problem if you have the new facebook app set to sync contacts. Go into the menu and turn that off.

i do have a gmail account were my contacts are coming from but when i go into gmail and the problem is not there because i check my contacts and they are not duplicated.
so gmail contacts are fine.
any one else ?

Blue - I've got the same issue. I've got multiple contacts for the same people, and they aren't duplicated in my google contacts... argh

There is also a cool app in the market called Contact Remover by Mark Harmison. It is helpful for removing duplicate contacts.

Just link them. I did, and I don't have the issue anymore.

I went into accounts and sync, and removed the facebook sync contacts. Fixed it for me.

I do agree with the recent comment that duplicate contact remover is helpful, I have the same sentiments before. I've been using Scrubly Duplicate Contacts Remover and it really works well for me. This automatically scans and deletes duplication. Just give it a try. hope this helps. Thanks..

I'm having a similar issue on my fiancee's EVO. I turned off automatic FB contact syncing via accounts&sync in the settings menu. Her address book no longer displays FB contacts but the dialer does. Neatens up the address book while still having access the FB contacts.
