Hi I had some questions.

1. Can I transfer my text messages to my sg3 with a sms back up and restore app?

2.Can I transfer pictures by just leaving them in the sd card? I will be formatting and then putting the pictures and sms restores onto the sd card. Will this work?

3.Also when transferring with Kies air can I move the music to my sd card?

1. You can transfer the back up file on the sd and just restore it. I prefer to use SMS Backup+ to backup to a separate gmail account and then restore; that way, there's no need to move files around and it's always backed up online. It also does incremental scheduled backups to keep it in sync with the phone.

2. You can just transfer the folder where you have the pics stored back on the sd card after formatting. Normally it would be the DCIM folder I believe.

3. Have not used this so no idea.

3. You can, but I prefer Wi-Fi Explorer (in the Market) personally. You can accomplish #2 via that method as well.

Okay thanks. Also if I export contacts to sd can i move them that way too?

I had to do it this way because Google didn't load my contacts correctly. If you export it will save as a .vcf file then you just transfer that to the S3 and import them. I emailed it to myself then just downloaded on my S3.

What's the best way to transfer contacts and apps? I assume just put apps on SD card and move SD card to S3?

If your contacts are in Gmail they will transfer automatically once you sign in on your new phone. The same should happen with the App Market.

I wish I never used back up assistant on my DX. I spent an hour last night manually adding my contacts to my gmail sync so they will sync that way when I activate my GS3 tonight. I don't think there is an easier way to do this. If so its too late now haha.

I just realized if you can't put apps on SD card on the S3, will I be able to move apps from SD card to S3? Is there a way to transfer apps from my DX to S3?
