DX v DX2 for first Droid

I'm contemplating getting my son either a Droid X or Droid X2 as his first smartphone for Christmas. Can someone please give me a list of pros and cons for either of these, or why I should look at one over the other? Fyi, I will be buying off-contract, used. Thanks for the help!
