here are some thoughts:
- sand enough so the leather is smooth and the shiny layer comes off. the dye soaks better.
- don't use too much dye! i put on a couple layers and it ended up being too dark for my taste. i eventually sanded it off after drying it for a night.
- if possible, do this right after purchasing. the leather slowly begins to show creases and leads to different shades of colors.
- follow the threads to the letter and you should have no problem =)
