couldn't wait for the release of new bands and hated the color of the stone leather so decided to do a DIY following these threads:

Stone Leather Band to Light Brown (Fiebing's Leather Dye) : moto360

http://forums.androidcentral.com/moto-360/443675-diy-one-week-update-how-permantly-dye-your-360-stone-gray-band-black.html

here are some thoughts:

  • sand enough so the leather is smooth and the shiny layer comes off. the dye soaks better.
  • don't use too much dye! i put on a couple layers and it ended up being too dark for my taste. i eventually sanded it off after drying it for a night.
  • if possible, do this right after purchasing. the leather slowly begins to show creases and leads to different shades of colors.
  • follow the threads to the letter and you should have no problem =)

I done something very similar to you. Its interesting to see this because every one must have a different end result - mine was a bit more dark from multiple layers. I like how in the second to last photo, the outter watch band appears to have a weathered effect to it.
