E-Mail (Gmail) Custom notification sounds

I downloaded a sound file that I want to make a notification for Gmail. The sound does not appear on the list of available notification sounds. How do I add my sound to the list?

Move it into the memory card in media>notifications and it should show up

Did that and then had to restart the phone. There it was!
