Early impressions of Google Assistant

Since getting my Pixel I've been eagerly playing around with everything Google Assistant can do. Not having Android Auto in my car, I've most enjoyed it for the convenience of calling up directions, finding the nearest gas station/restaurant, and requesting music from YouTube.

While it's super early and there's obviously going to be many more features and services added in the future, what's there so far is still pretty entertaining. I've played around with some of the "random fun" options and got a big kick of nostalgic when I learned that a MadLib generator is built right in.

Having spent years using iPhones with Siri, I feel like I'll be using Google Assistant much more simply because it feels faster, and is surprisingly accurate at figuring out what I meant to say even if it mishears some words.

I'm interested in hearing everyone else's thoughts! What's the coolest moment you've had with Google Assistant so far?

Thanks for sharing, Marc! I've yet to use Google Assistant and would also like to see what everyone's thoughts are on it!

Going along with the original question, what are the differences between Assistant and Google Now?

Only real world situation i've tested it in is while driving and asking it to play music. "OK Google, play Led Zeppelin"....."Sure!"....

It works well. :D
