Early upgrade with sprint and SG3 or iphone 5

I really want an early upgrade with sprint i go back to school on the 13 of August and my upgrade date is September 1st id really like to go back to school with a new phone but im not sure if sprint will let me upgrade also do you think i should wait and go for the iphone 5 or go ahead and get the galaxy 3?

considering we do not know exactly what the iPhone 5 will have packing, you are asking current superphone vs the unknown.

If it boils down to your time frame, you have no choice but the SGS. The new iPhone will not be in stores by September 1st. heck it will not even be announced until the 12th (Apple reportedly to unveil iPhone 5, iPad Mini on Sept. 12 - Tech Talk - CBS News)

If you can hold out until October, then you can compare the two and decide for yourself.
