Earphone connectivity problem

I am using Samsung Galaxy Y. My device dosenot detect my earphone now. It happened after I accidently unplugged my data cable without disconnecting it. I did a factory reset and after that it was working. But the problem reoccured after I synced my device with my previously synced gmail. I think there must be some services which is stopped or something.

Things which i noted.

  1. Earphone is working fine.
  2. Phone jack doesnot seem to have any problem.
  3. Some service seems to be disabled.

How did you check the phone jack--just a visual inspection? Lint and other stuff can get stuck in the jack and interfere with the connection, and it's not always easily visible. Try blowing the jack out with a compressed air bottle, or use a damp toothpick and root around to see if you find any lint.
