If this is a repeat, I apologize. I didn't see it in the search.

My friend just bought a Nexus and he's having a problem that may or may not have a solution. He's trying to get more volume out of the earpiece and says it's too low. I've read a bit and it looks like it might be a common thing on the Nexus, but haven't found any solutions in a quick bit of searching.

Is there an app or some kind of solution that doesn't involve rooting to increase the earpiece volume? This may be the deal breaker for him, so I'm hoping to find a fix.

Thanks in advance.

no, the only way to fix it is to root the phone. and believe me, the fix in cyanogen ROM is SIGNIFICANTLY louder. its too loud actually, you cant go over 6/10 or your ear falls off.

I'm using the stock 2.1 rom and it's not to bad, but you don't want to root get a Bluetooth headset. The plantronics I use is clear and loud.

I kinda figured that rooting would be about the only solution. It's unfortunate because I think he'll end up returning it and getting a SuckPhone because of this. Thank you for your help though.

I have the same issue. Only thing wrong with the phone. At least I don't make too many calls, but it's not adequate in a less than quiet room. Really hoping the new update fixes it...
