Maybe it's just my girlfriend and I, but we have a very hard time hearing each other and anyone else who we talk to on the phone. It's like the volume doesn't get loud enough. I have a Maxx and she has a regular Razr and it's definitely a problem on both. Anybody got any ideas on how to fix it or help it? Thanks

First, make sure that the volume is turned all the way up. This sounds like a no brainer, but I've found that sometimes when I'm on a call with the phone up to my ear, the volume button doesn't seem to work--I have to take the phone away from my ear so that the screen comes on, then adjust the volume. You should be able to see the volume bar when you do this. So perhaps you think you've adjusted your volume all the way up, but in fact it hasn't budged?

Second, you could try turning off Voice Privacy under Phone->Settings->Voice Privacy. After doing a little searching on the web, it seems that most authorities don't think turning it off should affect voice quality, but there are a few people on forums who have noticed some improvement (mostly with echoey sound quality). I don't pretend to understand the technology, but it sounds like the Voice Privacy option is somewhat obsolete anyway, so turning it off probably isn't a big deal (at least as a trial).

Thanks B Diddy I have checked the in call volume and it is all the way up, I turned off voice privacy and I'll give it a try

Voice privacy doesn't effect volume. It just encrypts the incoming voice so it's harder to tap into and listen in by a third panel decide

Voice privacy muffles the sound coming out of the ear piece so that in a quiet surrounding other people cannot understand what the person is saying on the other end. I always turn this off cause if I do get a call in a quiet surrounding I always get up and leave cause it is rude lol can't stand people yammering on in a doctors office I don't want to hear it

Not true.

There is no noticeable difference in call quality between leaving it on or off. It add an extra layer or encryption. It's not really necessary but it doesn't hurt to leave it on.
