Hey Guys,

Im not sure if there is a thread on this yet, but here it goes.

Im sick of having to reinstall over 70 apps on my phone every time I do a data wipe and change Roms.

Titanium back up helps.... NOT!!!
It allows recovery but I have to approve INSTALL for every single app and I have to wait for installation.

When I was using my EVO4g I would flash a zipfile called GAPPS (googleapps) which would pretty much flash all google apps on my phone.

Any way I can make my own zip file and flash over 70 market apps?

Better solution? Please help.

Thanks!

Pay for Titanium Backup Pro Key and it'll batch install with 1 tap. Best ~$6.50 you'll ever spend if you regularly switch ROMs. Doesn't hurt that you're paying a dev who gives you a tool you use and rely on!

And the GAPPS package you speak of is actually a proprietary set of Google Applications directly from Google that has your Play Store, GMail, Google Music, etc. in it. You are usually required (or strongly encouraged) to flash this over every custom ROM that you flash. This is the easiest and most stable way to get your primary Google applications back on your fresh install. You can then restore their data (risky sometimes) with Titanium Backup.

You could make a .zip for yourself, but it'd be more hassle than just paying for Titanium Backup and doing it that way, as all of the apps will be restored and installed properly along with their application data so you don't have to set them up again.

+1 to Andrew's comment--

additionally, after you pay for the full version, use the Titanium menu to create an 'update.zip' that you can flash along with each ROM so that Titanium BU is already installed on the phone when it boots up, making it that much easier to restore your apps (instead of having to go into the market & download Titanium BU with ProKey).

TBU is easily worth the $. great great app.

Paying for the Titanium Back up Pro key made flashing almost painless. You can also set it up so that it completes back ups (and uploads to Dropbox, Google Drive or Box) automatically. This can be a lifesaver.

Definitely, a few bucks well spent.

I learned something new today :). I always did it the redundant way by re-downloading the app and key from the Play Store and sometimes have issues if there is no data or wifi nearby. Thanks for the tip :)

Has anyone looked at Wondershares's MobileGo?

I use this at the moment. The free client does everything needed and will backup everything you would expect (apart from app settings) the way an iPhone would sync. Once wiped and flashed, I hook up the usb and it syncs all my apps, messages etc. Has a wifi sync app too so you avoid skip usb if inconvenient.

Would be interested in how this stacks up against titanium to see if it's worth the purchase. Not a fan of the free titanium app.
