Easy mute not working on S8

New phone and poking at all the settings...

I turned on the Easy Mute feature and when I put the S8 face down on a table it still rang and vibrated when I called it using my land line. Is there another setting needed to make that feature disable all sounds? Or will Easy Mute only work when the phone is actually ringing?

Seems it only works after the phone starts ringing. I assume the best way to mute the phone is to use the pull-down menu and turn the speaker off.
