Easy root for Mac

If you are having issues with the mac side of things got to fryetech.com and let me know.

Its not good at all do to it in a virtual machine because sometimes it doesn't see your phone.

I haven't gotten any reports of it not working on OSX in fact I gotten reports that it is working.

So if it didn't work for you please let me know where OS X version you are using.

Also I will help you.

Snow Leopard has been tested

I haven't rooted yet, and am now eyeing the easy root method linked here. My question is the same as before, how much time do I need to set aside for this method? The consensus for the long method previously posted was 3 hours to be safe. Is that a good margin for the easy root as well?

I haven't rooted yet for two reasons. I haven't had a three hour block of time where my phone didn't need to be on (except when I'm sleeping) and Mobile Hotspot is still free. Once the deadline looms for the free trial I'll have more incentive to root. If I can complete the root process in 90 minutes, I may not wait.

Well I was going to do it the hard way, but every time I open ADB it just runs a help file, and then says process completed, won't give me anything else. Can't even use ADB..

Gave it a try, but it couldn't find my phone.

If on Windows make sure you have the right drivers installed. Also before installed the drivers make sure you are in USB Debugging mode.
Here is the video and download for that
YouTube - How to install drivers for your HTC Thunderbolt For Rooting

If you do have the right drivers installed. (Not the stock drivers) and you are still getting that error here is what to do

If you need help let me know and I will personally help you over skype and walk you though the process .

downloaded root checker[by joeykrim] from the market place to verify that i completed this correctly. Yes i do have root access, However...When verifying busybox install it gave back the message

"sorry, you don't have busybox installed correctly! For proper Busybox installation please search for Busybox app by Stericson in the market!"

I was wondering if anyone else had this happen?

Are you using a custom rom? or you still using the stock rom?

Did you use the Windows one for the Mac one?

If you follow my video to the T it sound take about a hour. hour and a half to be safe.

So I got all the way to the last step but Terminal still says Checking for phone. It appears stuck on this last step. How do I continue the root from here?

UPDATE: Just saw your video on the checking for phone error fix. Worked. Thanks man!

UPDATE 2: Didn't work for me the first time. Must have done something wrong so I did it again. Worked great this time. I am now rooted. Thanks for the "easy" root. FYI: Did this on the OS X Lion Dev Preview 2 with the latest update. Works with Lion.
