I'm really scared to root my droid cuz if something goes wrong i don't have a pc for rsd lite and i dont have the money to buy a new one, so is there any danger to easyroot at all i don't even want to flash roms i just want to have wifi tether for root users.

PDA net.
but theirs always a risk with this its slightly lower. If you dont already have it good luck getting it heard it it was pulled from the market due to basically copying droidmods code and trying to profit

i have pdanet put you cant wifi tether thus no tethering my ps3 the only way you can is to do internet shared and plug in the ethernet cord to the ps3 and computer. i think my problem is i don't realize how it obtains root access like with jailbreaking i understand how is done it patches the firmware to allow installation of 3rd party apps like when you use quickpwn, if you now what im talking about,
it shows like a command line and you see like what its doing like it says it on the screen its like "creating custom ipsw "flashing (random thing)" more flashing more flashing you get what i mean i don't understand it like is it a rather simple procedure by the way thanks the bizz you seem to solve all my android questions lol.

If you root it with the application, you have little to no risks, if it fails, it does nothing because it has no access. If it works but then somehow screws up half way through, very low possibility, then you MAY have an issue that I am sure you could find a computer to get it fixed. Then obviously the only other outcome would be it works.

Nope it wasn't pulled for copying droidmods code. I'm pretty sure it is just that Google doesn't want apps on their market that void peoples phone warranties and exploit security holes in their Android os. Considering if the app were to malfunction and break your phone people would be going after Google to replace their phones. That is why unrevoked isn't in the market. Its an at your own risk app. I don't think it would break your phone but just in case I would make sure your around a PC when you use it.

Yeah later on I heard the real story that's what I get for repeating things from df

Has anyone had any luck reaching the folks at Unrevoked? I haven't received my 'key' and they haven't responded to email or twitter.

I would go to their web site. I saw that they had a link to enter your email address to get your key code on the page.

Here is the link from their page: >>----> Easy Root Key Loopup

Good Luck

Tried that already, it doesn't recognize my email address (yes, the same email address I used to purchase via Google Checkout) They're "customer service" seems very lacking....

I've now sent him 2 emails and a 1 Tweet...still no response. I have provided the transaction information from Google Checkout as well.

We'll that's no good.

Yup, I'm about ready to call the number associated with the URL via Who.Is. IMO if a developer is going to charge for something, then they darn well ought to support it. If it were free, then that might be another story. As it stands now, I'm not sure that I would trust ANYTHING from Unrevoked. Buyer BEWARE!!!
