{Is eBay asking customers to change their password just a placebo.
The damage has been done as I understand from BBC Radio, as hackers have all the customer details needed to create a false ID.
They don't have access to financial details, and PayPal wasn't hacked.
This occurred 2 months ago.
When I opened the app today, after several weeks, it asks to input my password, where it would normally put me into my account / home page.
According to the BBC, eBay will be sending out emails to customers shortly.}
