I am going to be posting many of the very cool Eboy city scenes sized to work as wallpapers for the EVO 4G and other Android phones with 800 x 480 resolution.

Here are the first two, Venice and Berlin. There are lots more cities and I will be adding more over the next few days as I have time.

When you go to set the wall paper, the crop box will default to smaller than the full image. Make sure to stretch it to the full image. That way, your wallpaper should be pixel for pixel with the screen.

Oh crap. I didn't realize that the upload resized the images. I will reupload them and link to them.

If your originals are 800x480, don't bother. That's not the right size for HTC Sense and such. You have to keep in mind that the wallpaper moves slightly when you change screens left/right. That adds to the 480 pixels, making the required images more square.

It's obvious from the aspect ratio that they aren't 800x480

They are 800 x 960. I've read in a few places that it is the correct size for 800 x 480 Android phones. I've tried them and they work perfectly.

So Noob question. How do I get these on my EVO? And is the size issue rectified yet?

Copy these into your DCIM folder (I made a new one in there called Wallpapers) and then when you go to select wallpaper, select Gallery. You will find the pictures in there.

Thanks a bunch! I may not have my soon-to-be phone, but I do have wallpapers waiting for it

Yes. I had initially uploaded them as attachments via the forum tool and it auto resized them to tiny dimensions, so I uploaded them to TinyPic and then just posted those directly in the thread.

Just save the images directly to your phone or to your PC first and then copy to your phone.

Glad everyone likes them. I'll try to find more.

Just trying to start off in the Android community by contributing. If you look me up on PreCentral forums , you'll see what I will be bringing to Android in the not too distant future. Something very very cool.
