Echo....Echo....Echo.....try it yourself on the Nexus S 4g

the real issues are not found until the phone is shipped in mass quantities to general public. Closed set of test users will never eliminate issues that will arise when the phone is in hundered of thousands of hands.

I have 2 phone lines. I ordered this NS4G to replace the HTC Hero, which in & of itself, is garbage, after a few months of use. I am sadly disappointed with the NS4G! It's not like I can go to a store. I am gonna see about an advanced exchange...This NS4G should have been the IT phone. Pure Google. It turns out it is pure Delusional..

I'm glad I have 2 lines because I will upgrade my EVO to the 3D! I would never replace my EVO with this mess!

JE!

It's a fantastic device, and the only issue is the radios. Which again is minor and has been said to have a fix coming soon. Just know the EVO 3D will suffer many issues, just as every device that comes out does. Prepare

It's not possible you could of had the NS4G for a few months. Hasn't even been out 1 lol. I honestly by reading that don't believe you have ever owned the device. It's a fantastic device, and the only issue is the radios. Which again is minor and has been said to have a fix coming soon.

i think he's talking about the Hero

I was talking to my son today and he was on his Nexus. Yes, there was an echo so we experimented a little bit. He was talking on the speaker phone with it sitting on a table. Big echo. Then he put it face down on the table and it was almost non existent. Then he held it in his hand face down and the echo disappeared. I have heard echoing on almost every cell phone that I have had. It is definitely not a deal breaker to me. I just deal with it. The Pre had it too sometimes.

I tested mine again today as well, and the person I was talking with didn't seem to hear an echo. Not really sure if I was holding it different from the other day or not.. Oh well, still love this thing.

Well whats the latest with this echo issue. My wife and I both have Nexus's and my brother and his wife have Nexus's as well. We all have the same echo issue. Is there a fix on the way? Can there be a fix through an update? Whats the deal???

No news on it. The only fix is doing what one of the other members, splmonster, did by adding a thin layer of foam to the inside of the battery cover. I'm not sure how widespread the issue is, but I've had 3 exchanges for various reasons before I educated myself as to the phone issues, and each one had the speakerphone echo.

Sorry I don't know more than that.

In the scope of things this is a Nothing, the Nexus is fantastic and from Vancouver, Wa the 4g is great, moved from the Pre and this hands down is great. I was waiting for the Iphone Sprint but that may never happen, this may be even better....

Thankfully I haven't had this problem. *crosses fingers and knocks on wood*

We found that if you put the phone on it's front on a table it helps with it. You just have to play with it a little to see what works best.

From my experience, the echo only occurs when the device is set on a hard surface with the speaker down. I was holding the phone the other day while it was on speaker and had no complaints from the person on the other line.
