Edge panel empty slot removal

On the apps section of the edge panel, the empty slots you don’t use still show up with “+” inside them. Anyway to hide them? Looks pointless and ugly

I like the Edge panel, but wish that you could widen the "handle" to make it easier to open (since many glass screen protectors don't cover the entire screen, they interfere with being able to easily open the Edge panel). I have one unused slot on my apps panel and I just ignore it. I figure that sometime down the road I might find something to put in that spot. I also use the contact panel, handy in quickly opening oft used contacts.
