Edge Plus screen not as bright or vivid as Note 5

Sure enough, I have both and when you look at them side by side as pictured above the Note5 does look brighter. Strange that when you take a screenshot of the same thing with both phones and compare them side by side they look exactly the same though.

Those settings are just set differently. There are multiple videos on youtube comparing the Note 5 and Edge+ side by side and there are no noticeable differences in screen brightness or luminance. If there were then Samsung would've received tons of complaints about it by now. Look through the videos listed below:

If you can see a big difference in screen quality then first I would check that both phones are on the same screen mode (Samsung allows multiple screen modes in the settings). There's also the Adaptive Display setting which reduces "whites" in favour of battery life. Otherwise you could be dealing with a defective unit. Displaymate has already extensively tested both these phones and found very little difference between the two.

The S6 edge plus seems pretty bright enough to me. Then again I don't have a Note5 to compare it with... nor do I plan to anytime soon. If you look and try hard enough you can find a problem with just about everything.

I have edge plus and my wife has note 5 and when compared both (same screen setting and brightness, no power saving, both fully charged) the edge plus looked dimmer and the white was a little bit yellowish. I didn't believe this difference exists until I compared them sue by side.
Looking at the edge plus without the note 5 next to it looks very bright and clear white

My experience exactly. When I took it out of the box, the Edge Plus looked totally fine to me. It wasn't until I did the side by side comparison that I saw there was a difference.

It makes no sense to me that that the screens would be different. Since you've compared the two side by side and they are identical, that shows it can happen. Others like myself and others have experienced differences in our side-by-side comparisons, so it shows that there is variance. I wish I had gotten lucky and received a screen like yours. I had no desire to attempt one or more returns, so I stayed with the Note 5.

I don't have a Note 5 handy but here's my S6E+ next to my wife's S6 and iPhone 6. All are at max brightness. I guess the display yields can be inconsistent, even for Samsung.

I'm on Verizon. It's the SM-G928V.

Yeah my Edge plus definitely does not have that yellowish tint to it, so I'm suspecting defective units there.

None of those devices are defective. You would never notice unless they're next to each other.

The yellowish tint in post #31 is caused by the angle of the light bulb on the display. Move them around and you'll see the same on all. No defect.
