I would like to edit the Verizon voice mail contact to add a pause so that I can add my password but there doesn't seem to be anyway to do this. Does anyone know a workaround for this issue?

Might I suggest making the Google voice VM as your primary VM? Its so much better than Verizon's. And free, not $2.99 for the visual VM per month. And Google voice transcribes for free. You have to do some carrier manipulation on your phone, but it is easy and Google has instructions on their voice website.

I haven't been able to do that with the *86 value. But you can add pause or wait sequences to other numbers using one or more commas. So as a kludge you could create a contact with your phone number and add the pause there. Like 1234567890,,1111

I had no trouble at all, in fact the Maxx is the easiest phone I have ever preset my voicemail on.
1. open dialer
2. tap 3 dots on lower right, then choose settings from the popup
3. open voicemail from settings
4. open setup
5. open voicemail number
6. to add a pause or wait touch the *# keyon the keypad, then in that keyboard is a pause and wait key
No special key presses required...
I used 2 pauses after *86 then my password then 4 pauses and then the number 1
Makes it easy to check voicemail messages

YA! Now I remember I had to do this with my Rezound. All other numbers can have pauses and waits set in the actual contact. Thank you so much for reminding me!! :)

Thanks, like2angle. I'm pretty new to Android and hadn't discovered that setting.
