Editing the bootanimation

How can I extract a boot animation from a ROM and apply it to my current ROM?

Which ROM? If you have the zip of the ROM, unzip it, navigate to /system/media and find the bootanimation.zip. Then on your phone navigate to /system/data with an app like root explorer and replace the old with the new. Make sure to set the correct permissions, it should be the same as everything else in that folder.

I want to take the bootanimation from the Scott Pilgrim ROM to my most recent BACKside IHO ROM

Place in the /system/media.

I would back it up to ur sdcard but yes u can only have one there at a time.

oops... I already did everything before I read this. I just overwrote the file. I have it working though. I just tested it.

I'm running Reborn ROM, would this work for me too or do I have to be running a variant of CM7? Any possibilities of a version of this with just Scott Pilgrim? That is one awesome animation...

Never mind I figured it out. Should have googled this one first. Sorry for wasting anyone's time...
