Email client only syncs when update time period to sync

Using 5.02 and the email client only syncs when I update the time period or incoming server settings. I have two other accounts, one pop and one exchange, that work without issue. This imap account won't sync. If I delete and reinstall it works for a while and then the problem comes up again. Suggestions?
 
Turn off the time period for that account - then it's push. When the server pushes it, the phone gets it.
