Email not notifying

Kind of a weird problem that apparently started a few weeks ago and I did not notice. I have three emails attached to the mail app, my hotmail/outlook, my work email, and my gmail account. My gmail is the one that stopped alerting. My sync email option is checked, my peak schedule time still updates every 5 min, email notifications is one and i have a ringtone selected.

Anyone else have this issue?
 
I'm assuming you're using the stock Samsung email app?

If so, have you set notification settings for each individual account, not just in the General settings?

If that's not it, try these things, one at a time:

Reboot
Clear the email app's cache, and if that doesn't work clear data (you might need to reenter your login info or even recreate the account)
Delete the account and re-add it

Let us know what happens.
 
Rebooted a few times before making this post. I deleted and re-added the account today with no improvement
 
You didn't say if you checked the settings in each individual account, in addition to "general."
You didn't say that you cleared cache and data. I'm not sure if recreating the account will clear the cache or not.
 
Sorry, been a little busy with finals and stuff.

The cache was cleared with no change.

Setting look ok to me. Sync Email is checked. Email notification is checked and ringtone selected. Nothing special in general pref. Email notification checked
