Email Notifications Help

Hello, I have a DNA with my exchange corporate email set up on it... sometimes though I get a bunch of notification sounds in a row and when I look I only have 1 new email. Sometimes its 2 sounds, but a bit ago it went off with like 5 or 6 sounds in a row and when I looked, a single new email.

Has anyone else experienced this? And if so is there a fix?

Are you s-on or s-off? Running a stock rom or are you running a custom rom, if so which one?
