I have a question about the email on this phone. I'm coming from a BB Storm 2 where email was never a problem. OK, the Fascinate has its own built in email server to handle accounts, which I have 3 now (home network email, yahoo, & gmail). I noticed the accounts NON-Gmail would receive and would be days old. I can go to the internet and see 5-20 emails sitting, nothing being forwarded.
So, everyone seems to rave about K9 email app so I downloaded it and plugged all accounts into it. Well, now NONE of them are pulling emails from the server unless I click "check new mail."
Maybe I don't understand Android enough...but on my BB there was never a delay and I always got my email. I understand Android doesn't have a great email client like BB, but from understanding, it can go and pull the information on a set schedule...thus pull not push email. Well, Fascinates email client is set to receive often, although only gmail works that way. On K-9 there is no option to set for how often. So...what gives? Is this how this phone or Android in general work?
My wife's DX does the same thing with Yahoo...some days its instant other days its hours-to-days late. I called verizon and they said to download Yahoos own email client in the market....that the answer??
