I've been on KK4.4.4 for a long time (did a FDR when I upgraded to it too). This past week I've noticed that email (the factory app that can't be deleted) is at the top of my battery usage list (per GSAM). In addition, I get random messages saying, "Unfortunately, email has stopped."

I've booted to safe mode and then back with no change. I've also cleared the system cache to no avail too. Email stays at the top of the battery usage list and the error messages continue... maybe 2 or 3 a day.

I fear the likely solution is to do a FDR to fix whatever's wrong with email But that is a last resort due to losing all the tweaks, etc. on all my apps that I've done.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what may be the sudden cause of the email app battery drain and the error message?

Are you saving a month of email? Change it to 2 weeks and see if it helps.

Thought I was auto subscribed to my own threads... but apparently not!

IAC, since I can't disable this app, and the cache clearing didn't change anything, I ended up deleting all the data and setting it up all over again. Now the battery suckage is way down and far down the list where it should be. I have no idea what happened or why/if what I did actually fixed the issue. But all seems well now.
