If I get and incoming email it also arrives in TEXT. How can I stop TEXT from receiving email messages.

Hope someone has an answer. Motorola and Verizon have been unable to provide an answer.

Never seen that one. Look at tex setting for delivery reports. Not sure if that's it since I don't use it but you never know.

does this happen for all email accounts or just a particular one?

All emails come in as an email and as a Text message. No matter whether I'm using 1, 2, 3 or more email addresses.

No Text message go to my email address.

I added email addresses just to see if this was coming from my provider... So all emails come in from all three providers tested.

Any more ideas, answers, assist... ANYONE.

Do you have an email or text app from the Market? May be a conflict. If you do have these apps, try uninstalling them one at a time. Good idea to do a battery pull after each uninstall. Clears the app leftovers and helps the X move on. Just a suggestion - easier than a Factory Data Reset, which may be your only other alternative.

Thanks, tried to reset the battery... no luck. Still get email in my text (sms/mms)

Email vs. Text (sms/mms)

Thanks, Arelunde... tried all these my email is with COX and yahoo. Still get text from any and all emails. Just doing text to text works fine and get no email attachment. Motorola has indicated to return the Droid Z.

I'll wait for a few more Forum notes before I consider returning the Z. I'd loose two much to have to restart an replaced Z.

Thanks everyone.

Hello all, Finally learned the problem. COX was sending my COX email to verizon via F@vtext.com. I reset the system for COX to forward all my COX email to verizon as F@cox.net. Now all my COX comes into my Droid Z as a COX email and not as a verizon test.

Thank you for everyone.

My text are now completely separate then my COX email.

Is there a reason you keep calling it a Z? or is there something that you are refering to that i dont understand.... either way, i want to thank you for posting the cause of the problem its always good to do that so that if others have the same problem they can learn from the situation.

congrats and thanks again

Z vs X

Sorry for the typing error Z & X are right next to each other on the board and I just make that Z-X ans X-Z mistake from time to time...

Glad to hear what created this problem. I've found that having Verizon involved directly with contacts or otherwise makes life complicated.

Had to do a factory data reset to clean up my contacts list after Verizon's auto backup had created a monster of duplicates and old listings. Deleted all Verizon website backup data on contacts, then did fdr, then did NOT activate the Verizon auto backup. Took care of that problem.

Also found that having Gmail fetch my pop3 email accounts and push to my X works very efficiently. At the same time, Gmail will sync its contacts & calendar instantly between computer and the X. After realizing this, I eliminated all the other intermediary applications (ex: Outlook). Very slick!
