Email won't sync properly after Andoid update to 6.0.1

I have a Samsung S5 Neo. I was prompted to update Android a few days ago, which I did. But now in my email app (not gmail) my emails stay in the inbox even after I have downloaded them in Outlook to my PC. I have not changed any settings on the phone.

Before the update, emails would download to my phone but they would disappear once I had downloaded the emails to my PC. That is what I want to happen.

Any ideas how I can get that back again?

Hi

There are two options you can try hopefully the first one will work.

First Option, enter recovery mode on your device and do a wipe of the cache partition, no data will be lost!

Second option, prior to doing so, be sure to backup your device. Would need to do a full factory reset of your device. I highly recommend this option after every major update.

Hope this helps!

I had this problem after updating to Marshmallow. MM introduced the Doze feature which disables apps which is not what you want to have happen for email sync. Settings>Battery>More>Optimise Battery Usage>All apps and disable your email from the optimisation process
