Emoji icon not working on S6 edge

Before I updated my phone, at least 3 days ago, my emoji icon would work. Even if the keyboard was open. But now, if I press the emoji icon, even using the default theme for my phone it lights up and nothing comes up. Is there anything that could be done or I haven't paid enough much attention to this change?

No big deal about these emoji icons really.What updates did you actually do?

It was a system update with a gps glitch and inner apps pre-set with the phone.

Sometimes these updates screw up the phone more than help it.
