I tested these emulators on an overclocked LG Optimus V at 825mhz

Feel free to share your own experiences with Emulation on this phone

Atari 2600 WORKS

Emulator used: Ataroid

I only tested one game. It was simply called Mario bros. It ran smoothly. No problems with sound.

Gameboy Advance WORKS

Emulator used: Gameboid

Worked perfectly. Felt like I was playing on an actual GBA. I tested various Pokemon games and Crash Bandicoot games. The emulator came with the ability to use gameshark/gamegenie/actionreplay codes which is nice. Sound was smooth. Also supports fast forward which I like.

Gameboy Color WORKS

Emulators used: GBCoid and GBC A.D (These emulators were pretty much Identical)

Both emulators ran games perfectly. I tested Mario Bros. Deluxe, Wario Land 3, Pokemon Gold and Blue. I encountered no problems at all. Sound was smooth but sometimes a little distorted. Gamegenie/Gameshark codes supported.

SEGA Gamegear/Mastersystem WORKS

Emulator used: Gearoid

I encountered no problems. I played Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Everything was smooth including sound. Has fast forward support which is nice.

SEGA Genesis WORKS

Emulator used: Gensoid

Ran perfectly. No problems with sound. Cheating support, Fast forward, and even Net-Play via Bluetooth and Wi-fi. I played Sonic the Hedgehog.

Nintendo 64 DOES NOT WORK

Emulator used: N64oid

Force closed as I tried to open a game. I’m guessing even If I could get a game to open it wouldn’t be pretty.

NES WORKS

screenshot-1316990732094.png

Emulator used: Nesoid

Everything ran smooth including sound. Fast forward, cheating and Net-play supported

PSX BARELY WORKS
screenshot-1316992690492.png
screenshot-1316990946585.png

Emulators used: FPse and Psx4droid

Psx4droid: I chose my BIOS and booted up THPS 2. The title sequence is running very smoothly, even the videos. Sound is fine. Playing the actual game however, isn’t perfect. You might as well turn off the sound, and gameplay is very choppy. If someone really wanted to play a game they could. Maybe the game Im playing is too complex. Its not complete garbage, but its not perfect.

FPse: Force closed on opening the app.

SNES WORKS

Emulator used: SNesoid

Runs smoothly. Sound and everything. Net-play, cheating, and fast forwarding are all supported. I played Mega Man Soccer.

dont remember seeing a write up on which emulators worked on the V before, but to my knowledge this info was fairly well known in the first week of its release. its the first thing everyone did.

n64oid is definately broken on the OV, but the PSX emulator WORKS for me, on a Gingerbread rom OC to 806. its somewhat laggy with some games but THPS2 works very very well, very playable on my phone.

So you recommend overclocking first right?

no, the 2D emulators (gameboy, SNES, etc) should work on a stock, un rooted un overclocked phone. they did for me back when I was stock.

overclocking helped with the demanding games.

custom ROM helped way more than overclocking.

but you shouldnt have a problem with a stock phone.

Fpse works on my ov. Buuuut choppy. I was playing gex(2d) still choppy. Havent tried it in a while after changing roms though. Ill post back sometime with rom/oc speed. And game
