Car is a new Mustang 2016 GT Premium; phone is newer Note 4 (Verizon) running 6.0 and I'm trying to get Android Auto to work. (I need google map on this thing; thought it had nav but boy, was I wrong.)

My understanding is that it requires "Android Auto" to be enabled on the car sync 3 system.

I have it on my phone. The problem is that I cannot find that icon on the radio in settings or what have you.

The head unit recognizes when it's hooked up to my phone; plays the music on it with no problem.

But AA tells me to hook up my phone as part of the set up even when it IS hooked up, using the Samsung supplied power cord and bluetooth.

The head unit sees the phone. The phone, for purposes of AA, doesn't seem to see the head unit.

I've heard of an update for 2016 sync 3 setups, and have enabled wifi at my house with automatic updates.

Am I missing something? Is there a way to push the update to the head unit? Am I sol? Is it the update that I need to get the "enable Android Auto" feature on the Synch 3 unit?

Thanks!

The update that enables Android Auto on 2016 sync 3 vehicles has not been released yet.
