Definitely knew this would happen, just didn't want it to be true haha Looks like I'm stuck with ios for another few weeks.

Too bad for HTC as the galaxy s4 will be available as well at the end of April. Even if I consider the ONE to be a better phone Samsung will win this battle.

Just read that best buy is accepting Pre Orders for the phone on the 25th of March (which im assuming all carriers will start that date too) and Bestbuy said they will have stock shipping on the 29th after a store employee talked to the store manager!

added: and on top of that the statement wasnt from HTC in the article you posted so that is just speculation. I HIGHLY doubt HTC is going to push back the US release date that far because they KNOW that the S4 willl be huge competition for them. They definitely want the US to be one of the first market that gets a hold of the HTC One and they will do everything they can to make it happen.

Rumors are S4 will be in US by end of April or early May.

This is a huge blow for HTC.

HTC just doesn't have the money to spend and advertise like Samsung does. I have a feeling if they are both released within a couple of weeks of each other the ONE's sales will be hurt drastically.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. If HTC released and official statement saying the phone won't be available till late April then it's pretty assuredly not going to be here before that.

HTC has just released a statement regarding availability for the HTC One.

Other articles citing the same statement have indicated it was sent to the tech press by HTC.

Yeah looks like i may have been wrong.. logged oon to facebook and HTC USA posted it as well as the main HTC page.. BUT "before the end of april" qualifies as today as well as any day before april 30th so we may expect it sooner then we think. I would REALLY like the 29th of march to be true as that is what best buy is saying but looks like pre orders will be starting on the 25th so we should be getting a date quite soon

I just got an email update from HTC stating, "When we originally announced the HTC One, we communicated a March availability date but we unfortunately will not meet this date in the U.S. We now expect to roll out the new HTC One in North America before the end of April." Taking those two sentences in combination, it seems the availability date will be before the end of April, but not before the end of March - so we're looking at best at sometime between April 1 and April 30.

2. It's worth noting that it says "before the end of April." I'll bet that means later rather than sooner, but we don't have any hard and firm dates from any U.S. carrier.

Agree. Before the end of April to me, means last week of April. So another month to go. It's a shame. Hopefully carriers and Best Buy announce preorders before then. Even so, bad job HTC.

Really looking forward to this phone. Great features/great reviews, but HTC has got to nail it with the One. The pre-order counts sound promising, but they need to get this out and get the buzz going before the S4 comes out to have a chance at getting enough momentum to do well with the One. I don't expect them to outsell the S4 by any means, but the sooner they get it out, the better.
