Engadget Review is UP!

Awesome!! I have been waiting to read about their take on it! Here is hoping for some positive things! :D

Just got done reading it, not too bad. I think they could've given a higher score. Things can be fixed via updates.

So are they supposed to review a device based on what may possible happen at a to be determined date in the future?

Good review. I am looking forward to buying mine tomorrow :)

I am also looking forward to what developers can show us with their updated apps, now that the SDK is out...albeit a little late in my opinion.

I just noticed that thus far, PCMag is the only major site/reviewer to constantly remind everyone "it's not as good as the iPad".

Someone stick a fork in my eyeball.

Wow, "It's spectacular, a spectacular work in progress". Not sure I was expecting that. I think even at this stage a $600 wifi version would be worth it. I also think some tablet apps on the market now would have helped.

Yeah none of the reviews have been particularly kind towards Honeycomb. While they all note its a good start, all of them are saying the Xoom isn't worth it yet.

To be frank, this type of launch isn't something Google can afford. The new iPad is around the corner, and the first impression of Honeycomb will make or break these products. 'Good enough' isn't going to cut it. Honeycomb has MASSIVE potential, but they should have just sat on it for a while to get the kinks totally worked out.

Didn't expect any other kind of review from Engadget. Nothing except Apple gets higher than 8 on it.

Yeah, the XOOM seems like good hardware. Honeycomb could bake for a few more weeks in the oven, it seems like. I'm sure we'll be getting updates in the next few weeks. I'm looking forward to buying my XOOM and using it for my commute...can't wait. As for improvements, we all know they will come as Google continues to work on Honeycomb.

Engadget usually always gives Apple a reach around. Nice read.

Are you attempting to excuse the half-assedness of Honeycomb at this point by blaming the criticism on bias?

Honeycomb has the potential to be an incredible OS. Better than iOS. Better than Blackberry tablet.

Right now though, its not there. Not by a longshot. It'll be fixed, of course, but its not fit for widespread consumer use at this point.

No, im pointing out what is widely know when it comes to Engadget and their love affair with everything Apple. I know that there are going to be shortcomings and issues with a brand nee OS and I am prepared for that. But as for the engagdet review, as much as I was looking forward to it, I am not all that surprised by it.
