Does the 'Enhanced LTE' toggle do anything without engaging VOLTE support at the carrier level? (For me it's Verizon so they call it Advance Calling 1.0)

I don't seem to have a good enough signal to avoid the occasional dropped call under Advanced Calling so am just wondering if the toggle in the phone settings makes any difference on a stand-along basis.

Not sure what your question is but:

If it's on, you'll receive Data while on a call if the area you're in supports it. If you're saying that in some areas you're getting a lot of dropped calls, you can toggle it off directly on the phone (don't do it from your account) for those areas to disable it and the phone will make calls without Advanced Calling to avoid the dropped calls but you won't have data.

You can't toggle it on and off while on a call, you can only do it prior to making or receiving a call.

Thanks. Guess my question is whether the phone toggle does anything unless you activate the feature on Verizon.

I cannot do voice / data on Verizon with toggle on main account and on phone as well. Frustrating.

You have to activate it on your account first, there is no charge to do so. After you activate in on your account, you can then turn it on and off as you please from the phone.
