Hi,

I have written a small guide, 19 pages, 336 kB, explaining how to enhance your smartphone security, privacy and anonymity.

I have written this guide with LibreOffice, offering more functionalities than the forum message editor, and exported it to PDF.

The guide is attached to this post.

It is also available from archive.org, https://archive.org/details/smartphone_202508.

Future revisions might be published on archive.org, with the same URL.

Regards,

MN

What made you get into security write-up? Were you not happy how your Android handles security?

Hi,
There are two aspects on security:
- intrinsic: security is correctly managed, with apps running in Selinux sandboxes; main risk is to install a malevolent app, from Play Store, from an alternative store, from an apk; however, security can be still improved, this is what is done with GrapheneOS on Pixel devices.
- external: internet is full of malevolent web sites with phishing, scams, crap etc; that's why I insist on filtering DNS resolvers offering a protection against malware, such as DNS0.EU, DNS4EU, Mullvad DNS and rethink DNS.

Regards,

MN
