I got my bionic on day one. I can,t take the data problem any longer. there is not a day that goes by that I don't have pull the battery two or three times. I am so sick of this. has anyone been approved to exchange their bionic for different phone other then a motorola. I,m almost ready to pay full price, I'm just that sick, I never exchanged it for another one, because i'm told there all the same.

I know it's not an entirely basic troubleshooting step, but have you tried resetting your phone via RSD Lite with the latest FXZ yet?

Sometimes a phone will get a bad flash and will misbehave terribly as a result. A full reflash could make your phone operate better.

For that matter, are you running completely stock? Are you rooted or running some sort of ROM? You'd be surprised at what kind of alterations could cause phone instability.

You must take it in! After 3 swaps if it still isn't working they typically let you swap.

there's a program called quickboot. it'll reboot your phone without pulling the battery.

being out on the road a lot. i have to do it quite often. i've never had internet problems with sprint.

these outages with verizon are just ridiculous. and there answer for being the most expensive carrier is that your paying for the service.

PFFT. WHAT SERVICE.

i keep wanting to switch back to sprint. and one of these days i just may do it. and maybe go with the verizon hotspot device only.

get a replacement phone. my first one was awful with connectivity. my replacement gets 4G 24/7 unless the network goes down. not all bionics are equal when it comes to connectivity performance!

I have never lost connection with my bionic except the times when verizon was down for all.

I've been fighting with VZW since early November. Last week, they finally admitted I could swap the Bionic for a Thunderbolt, Charge or Rezound. All seem like a step backwards. My govt. rep sent me a third replacement which is a bit better, but still not acceptable. I don't want to go backwards, forwards is the only way to look and iPhone is certainly looking more appealing.

The Iphone 4s cannot connect to 4g at all (EVER).

Though, on the plus side, there hasn't been a nationwide 3G data outage since the 4S was released. Or since the 4 hit Verizon, for that matter.

(Actually, you technically could connect the iPhone 4/4S to 4G if you bought a MiFi 4G hotspot and let the iPhone connect to data that way. And it could do simultaneous calls and data to boot!)

OK, technically a MiFi 4G hotspot connects to anything via WiFi so it isn't cellular to the device attaching. Plus, if you have to pay extra for the MiFi...is that a good deal?

Good comeback though...that was fun.

Honestly all the 4G phones have this connectivity issue and it's pretty well documented. The only way to "fix" it would be to just get a 3G phone. It has to do with Verizon's buggy 4G authentication on their network. It has a tendency to boot people off the 4G side for bad authentication even though you properly authenticated. Some phones handle the re-authentication a little better than others, but the problem is still there on every phone. Setting and unsetting airplane mode is the best way to fix it without a reboot.
