Enough of the EVO Already!!

For weeks and weeks... maybe even months all we have heard about, and 90% of what the forum owner and mods speak about, is the EVO. Enough already! After all, its only a handheld computer with a phone in it... it isn't the greatest electronic invention of all time... which by-the-way is the transistor.... or some may say the computer chip. None-the-less... the EVO is as large as a house (ok, a little smaller), and plain ugly looking... zero style factor. I see nothing special in the form factor what so ever. The new myTouch 3G Slider is far more stylish and a much nicer look form factor all around. Oh, and yes, it also has the same OS 2.1 on it. Granted it has a less powerful processor in it, but HTC has clocked it up to be super fast and responsive. My point being that their are other, new, Android devices being introduced that deserve as much attention as the EVO. Yet, the owners and mods on this forum seem to have ignored, sans a few remarks in passing, anything that isn't EVO.

I am happy for those who are on Sprint and are able to take advantage of purchasing the EVO... not an issue with me. But come on Phil... give more press time to some of the newer phones that have hit the market. You have done a horrible job with the HTC myTouch Slider. It is a fantastic device and is being way under rated here on the forum... as an example.

I think Phil - who is actually doing a fantastic job btw - focuses on the devices that are getting the most attention from consumers and generating the most buzz in the media. You will see a lot more info on other devices just as soon as it's available. I predict the Motorola Shadow and the HTC Scorpion will be all the buzz when the EVO's honeymoon is over. And as far as the myTouch slider? I don't even see you posting in that forum let alone me.

What is this EVO you speak of? :p

It is just a popular phone right now, I'm sure the hype will die down.

Someone took an angry pill this morning.

If that is the biggest of your problems in life, I'll gladly switch with ya!

You are right... I haven't posted on the myTouch forum here, I have been participating on the T-Mobile site. That said, I should put my money where my mouth is and start participating here as well... so I will do that.

No.. no angry pill.. at least not this morning anyway. I am just a bit burnt out on all the EVO stuff and feel other phones deserve as much press time as it has gotten.

In terms of the rest of my life... I suspect I am no different then any of us...we all have our problems and this certainly isn't a major issue by any stretch!

Trust me, we would love nothing more than that :) We are all about adding more members and increasing content.

The attention is going to go the the hot device at the moment. Just a fact. And that device is not the myTouch 3G Slider.

 Our army shall grow, and we shall overtake the world...

Ahem, I mean, of course we welcome all the EVO newbies! :D It's nice to see this community grow. And for all the people who are a little overwhelmed, just wait for things to cool down, give it a few days. Before you know it, it'll all be like it was before. At least until the next superphone arrives...

I still would take Incredible over EVO for two reasons...size and network......
Did our Incredible get this much love?
I mean it seems like the HTC Inc. was short on accessories, etc. while the droid had them ready to go, same for the evo.

In terms of forum traffic yes. Overall hype, no.

I personally think he's entitled to his opinion without everyone jumping down his throat.
