Enough storage space but video won't download

Hi guys,

Right, I am downloading a video from my outlook. He's 8MB and my phone has 431MB/5.52GB.
I download it, it pops up in video player and plays automatically.

All good, I go to downloads expecting him to be there....he's not !
I go to my gallery, expecting him to be there....'he's not !

So hear me out, ok, I check my storage space to see it has indeed reduced by 8MB.
So he must be somewhere on my phone, but I can't find him anywhere...

Any help, much much appreaciated.

I just downloaded a text document from drive and it showed on internal storage in the download folder.

Many mail clients will store it cached or temporary space and not downloads. What app do you use for mail? Have you tried using ES File Explorer (or similar client) and searched by filename or extension?

Ah... That one...

/data/data/com.microsoft.outlook/(blah, blah)

Or /sdcard/data/com.microsoft.outlook/(blah, blah)

And sometimes you have to replace the "sdcard" portion with sdcard0, sdcard1, or sd-ext

It is a hidden directory and buried deep in random directory names (that's why the blah part) ... Hard to find

I can't remember in that app if it is changeable in the app or not... I dropped it long ago and use Nine instead, or rather I did until my company forced iPhone on us last fall.
