I just got my Incredible and I love it, but being new to android there is one thing that is driving me insane. Is there any way, when sending a message, to set the phone so that when I hit the enter key, it sends the message instead of moving to the next line?

I don't think there is a setting to make enter send but you can get handcent which I believe has that option.

The HTC keyboard mod apk has that as one of 100 thousand setting options.

Thanks for both suggestions. I downloaded handcent and it seems good so far, but I may look into the keyboard mod.

Your going to have to wait for the Incredible to be rooted first unless Roy knows something I don't (which is most of the time ;) )

Thanks again Roy. I got it up and running and found the end with enter button, but it doesn't seem to be working. I'll keep playing around and I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Open up a text message. Now long press on the box that you would normally type in. Now select imput method. Pick the HTC_IME mod.
Try sending with the return key.;)

Yea this bothers me as well imma try this fix posted here. Tried it, sad it doesnt work in Handcent....:(

hmmm.....when i tried using it in Handcent pressing enter still made it start a new line. not send the message.

I noticed that on the options for the Android Central custom keyboard that Phil linked a while ago there is an option for this, i cant seem to get it to work on my Incredible though.

this got pushed off the page super quick, anyone have anymore information? im using the AC keyboard but its a pain to turn the phone to portrait just to send the message

For my first post on here (came from good ole CB) I too am wondering if this was figured out. I have come from suffering through the s1, then to a much improved s2, but now life is Incredible ;)

But seriously.... I am so used to using the return key to send. I followed the instructions but i did not get it to work in Handcent..... any answers??

I wish I had answers to help you guys out. The HTC custom keyboard wouldn't work for me after I got it installed, changed to options, and then selected it as the input message. Handcent, on the other hand, worked great. I'm not sure why its working for some but not for others.
