Epic 4g randomly updating all the apps?

For the past couple of days I've noticed that I have around 74 notifications in my notification bar. When I look to see what all that is, I found out it's my applications automatically updating. I usually have a few apps that need to update but not 74 at a time, and not an update that spans 3 days. Is there something wrong with my phone? It's eating up my battery and causing the android market to crash when I try to open it. Does anyone else have this problem, and how can you fix it? I've tried removing the battery and restarting my phone, but it keeps bringing these updates back.

I do have a number of apps moved to my SD card. Could that be the problem?

I'm running a rooted Epic 4g for what it's worth.

Sounds like on your apps you have installed you must have selected to allow each one to automatically update when updates are available. If your running a rooted device did you just recently start fresh and restore apps from a backup? If so these apps could be outdated and that is why its hitting you up with all the updates.

Only way to resolve would be to go into each of your installed apps in the Market by selecting Menu then My Apps and click on each app and check to see if you have auto updating selected.
