Epic Heats Up ... I Mean Hot

My Epic 4G is just out of the box ... charged the battery waited about 30 minutes and began using it. Mostly I have been looking around the device set up my gmail account made a call tried the Internet .. but after just a few minutes the phone really heated up. The heat is coming from the back of the device mostly where the Galaxy S logo is under the camera area.

When not in use its totally cool to the touch. Very frustrating. I might have to switch back to my EVO ... which is OK but I like the Epic keyboard.

Any thoughts on how to correct this?

If your phone is getting abnormally hot for no apparent reason you may need to swap it out for another one.

My nexus one gets hot as well. Not hot enough for me to drop it, but it does get hot.

How long were you using the phone? If its a short amount of time take it in. You may have a bad battery or maybe even a phone.

But the phone can get hot. Look up an app that gives your battery/phone heat. Just search on Google or appbrain.com

I think battery stats app may include it.

Mine got hot on the first release of Froyo. Reflashed it and everything was good. You can try restoring the phone first since you just got it, you won't lose too much info.
