Eris to get 2.0/1 or 1.6? ever?

Will the Eris get an upgrade, and will this upgrade be to 1.6? or 2.0/1? (I keep hearing rumors that this will occur in the 1st quarter of 2010), Can anyone verify?

I am curious why it seems to be such a task, isn't it basically the same as the HTC Hero with HTC Sense UI, and weren't they recently upgraded to 2.0? I know there is more to it than just flipping a switch, but can it really be that bad? these things get rooted quicker than updated. Loving the Android (iPhone convert here!) btw.

The next upgrade for the Eris whether it be 2.0 or 2.1 will be released in the 1st half of 2010 and more likely in Q1 2010. Jan. 22 is the date everyones heard its coming out on but i dont know if its a rumor or not. As for the hero the 2.0 or 2.1 upgrade was a leak and is not the final version of the OS...well to my knowledge anyways.

Yeah the Hero does not officially have A2. It was a leak. As far as I have read. Sprint told Hero owners sometime in H1 2010.

Thanks, it's just frustrating that I bought such a great phone, with a feeling that I got an 'outdated' OS...(I know...could have went with the droid....but anyway....)
