You will need to find and flash the latest firmware for your device.

And after you do that, don't go anywhere near King Root or other "one click root" type apps. They install additional software deep into the system files that data mine and invade your privacy. Simply un-rooting isn't likely to remove the spyware, and doing so without re-flashing the firmware can be difficult at best.

Judging by this thread on XDA (usually the go to site for rooting and modifications), this may now be a paperweight.

It seems this is one of those cheap Chinese knockoff tablets. Several people are commenting that the stock firmware and marketing is reporting false info compared to what is actually in the tablet, which is going to make it even harder to do anything with. These devices have almost no developer support, so you'll likely have to learn and program everything yourself.

In all honesty, I would abandon this one and replace it with something from a respected manufacturer, and don't try to root it. If you absolutely need to root (which is less common these days), then research how to do it manually and how to recover in case it fails and you brick the tablet before you ever try it.

How do I flash zh960?

how do i flash this zh960 as i am very new to android
it would need to be step by step instructions
as i am 65 years old & new this sort of thing

Re: How do I flash zh960?

That's going to be rather tough. That's on the lower end of the spectrum of devices and while there's lots of stuff out there for it, not many are having success with loading files on it with ease. Did you get it off of Wish or something? Lots of Chinese forums have info on it but it's a mish-mash of information.

Re: How do I flash zh960?

I agree with Bla 1ze

Why do you want to flash this tablet ? Best place for the info would be xda forums .

Re: How do I flash zh960?

For any device using a MediaTek chip

is the proper procedure. To find the correct ROM, though, you'll need the exact model number - zh960 is a generic number, used for a lot of tablets and phones.

This is his build number ZH960.vENOOOS20171218 on andriod 7

He tried rooting with kingroot , something went wrong, as per his PM to me

Re: How do I flash zh960?

Same thing - he's going to have to find a ROM for his particular device - and I can't fine any ROM for any zh960 implementation.

Re: How do I flash zh960?

As I said, no ROM at all for any zh960. (That's the problem with Mediatek SOCs - very few manufacturers using them post data or ROMs.)
