What app??? Is it the first time, or is this an update to an app??? And there is always the big question... did you try rebooting???

I've had similar issues with an app I was trying to update and had to remove it first.

Lolol.....I have been rooted since September. I am running "infected" ROM. what is interesting as I can download from amazon app without a problem. it is only some apps, not at all.

So, it's EVERY app from the Market??? And you've cleared data under Settings > Applications > Manage applications... is that correct??? What version of the Market app do you have loaded??? I'm wondering if they loaded an old version on that ROM... I'm using v3.3.11 of the Market app.

There may be a temporary file left over in your sdcard/.android_secure folder that you need to manually delete. Starts with something like smc... I can't remember right now. Have a look.

I have cleared out cache and I believe I am using the latest market version. I have NEVER had this problem up until this flash. I have flashed this ROM before and only removed it the other day and then came back to it.

What is interesting is that if I go to the market online from my PC and I can install the apps from there without a problem.

I bought an aftermarket extended battery and after reading some posts on here, I am thinking it has something to do with that....the antenna....but it even won't download with my wifi turned on.

Thanks for the ideas....tried it.....still won't download from the phone. It isn't that many apps...so I think I will just download them from the web.

What is interesting...it isn't INITIAL installs...they are all UPDATES.

Thanks Frank....this didn't fix my problem per se, but I did learn something which is envaluable and for that I thank you.

I think I am going to jack hammer my phone and install a fresh copy of my ROM.

Like I said in a previous post....I bought a 3rd party extended battery with a cover and it seems like from that time on, I have had issues...won't pick up 4G where it normally would. I don't know if that is the problem seeing that I can use the online Android market and push them to my phone.

Through this, I am learning a bunch of stuff....thanks again!

Exactly! Me too.

Sometimes folks forget how much "ancillary" knowledge there is to be gained by simply discussing an issue. Even if the actual fix for the specific issue is never forthcoming. Or, in other cases, you see statements like -- yeah, use the search, or, I already posted a message on that issue. Discussion like this almost always leads to gaining more insight/knowledge. Even if it seems like an over-posted topic.

Frank,

I think I know what the problem is....the battery and the cover. I took my phone back to stock (other than the revolutionary S-OFF) and install the initial GB update (from Android Police)....setup everything and it still won't download anything.

I don't think I fried anything because I can still push from the Android Market.

I think I am going to take the phone back to 100% stock this evening and start from scratch.....I don't have anything else to do on a Friday night.....girlfriend has her kids this weekend......looks like it will be me and Mr. Coors!

Don't know exactly what I did, but it is working now.

Even though I was at S-OFF, I still lost root...well, ROM Manager and SuperUser wouldn't install. What I did do was go back to GB (OTA) and I hated it...I was having withdrawals....LOLOLOL. So, when I got home, I redid REVOLUTIONARY and it worked. Reinstalled BAMF Cubed (decided against INFECTED ETERNITY.

Everything is restoring as I type this!

Thanks Frank for the suggestions!

I'm having this same issue after I tried to install INFECTED too. After I installed the ROM, it kept rebooting all night while it was trying to download all of my apps from the market. When I left it running last night it was at 73 left. Woke up this morning with 69 left:confused: So I did a clean wipe, cache, davlik, etc. and restored G3D. And now I'm getting the error messages when downloading updates. I'm restoring BAMF Forever as I type this. Hopefully that'll fix what's wrong...

What I had to do is do a factory reset (Menu --> Settings --> SD & Phone Storage --> Factory Reset). Then I had to do the "Revolutionary S-OFF" (http://www.revolutionary.io thing again even though my phone was already rooted. Then I had to boot into recovery and installed my ROM from there. Before you do all the above, make sure your ROM is somewhere on your SD card. I have a directory called "ROM" with all my ROMS there. I just navigate to the directory and pick which ROM I want.
