I am very new to this but am having problems rooting my Fascinate. I downloaded the drivers and reinstalled them since I already had them to make sure everything was good with them. I turned on the usb debugging like the walkthrough mentioned and ran the START_ROOT file in the FasinateRoot_v02 folder. Everything seemed to install ok and the phone rebooted but I got an error: device not found right after it said successfully exploited. I tried to run the titanium backup and it gave me an error saying the phone was not rooted. I have tried the walkthrough step by step 3 times and keep getting the same result. I am using the factory mini usb cable. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

before trying this again did you pull the battery,,,,and if one click isnt working, try one of the other methods

Got it, I had to physically disconnect and reconnect the usb while the phone was restarting to get it to finish. Thanks for the fast response and the great writeup!

yea had to do mine a couple times. I didnt unplug the usb, and plug back after the exploition. I hit ctrl+c and when it asked if i wanted to abort, i would type "n" and the 3 minute process would start.
