Error loading media

So basically I had to do a factory reset on my S8 Galaxy as I kept getting annoying pop ups that I couldn't seen to get rid of. Now when I try to send photos in Facebook messenger I get the message 'no media found' and there's nothing there,even though I backed up all my data and photos and there's photos in the gallery.

I tried clearing the data in media storage but I'm still having the same problem and I seem to have lost most of my photos from trying this solution now.

How do I fix both of these problems?

Welcome to Android Central! Are the photos saved to Internal Storage or the SD card? Use a file manager app to look in both areas.

By the way, the popups were most likely adware that came with some app you installed. Pay close attention to which apps you've been installing, because if it comes back, it's probably related to one of the recent ones you installed.
