ESPN Android App notifications do not open content

I use the ESPN app on 3 android devices ranging from a Note 8 to an old Tab S.

Every search wll talk about notifications not popping up
This I not the issue. The issue is that on very device, when I choose the notification I get the spinning circle and it never opens the article.

If I open the app and finally figure out where the article or video is it plays fine.

Is this a "known issue"? Is there any fix?

Have you already tried clearing the app cache and data for the ESPN app?

ESPN has a long history of having a terrible app. before the major update a couple of years ago cowherd was still on the picture and russilo had hair.

Seems like with any significant update, at least from my experience, they break notification. I need my batting lineup, daily. I went to The Score a while back.

I now see this issue on my Note 8 and my Tab S tablet. I assumed it was because my Tab S was "old"and running Marshmallow. But Note 8 is current.

Exact same behaviour when you click on an ESPN notification.

That's because the app, like much of their programming now, is trash.

Uninstall it and replace with bleacher report, problem solved

I have exact same issues on my galaxy 8 plus..like u I have to go to app itself to find the info

So its late April, 2019 and no one has a fix? Its annoying to see a fresh alert with exciting content never work. I by habit have been previewing the message only to swipe it away because I know I have to dig through the app manually and do a deep dive investigation to find that specific video or article.
