I have been looking for this also.

It seems that LG patched all the known exploits for Froyo.

There really isn't a lot of dev support for this phone so I'm guessing that there won't be another root exploit found.

All the forums that I read says that you need to go back to the previous software version, root that, and then install a pre-rooted current build.

Just so you guys know. The LG Esteem (metroPCS version of the LG Revolution) came out with Gingerbread and it finally got root access with working SU. MtMichaelson over at XDA is working on getting it ported to the LG Revolution now. Since they are essentially the same phone, it shouldn't be too hard. Here's the thread, scroll down to the next to the last post.

A little good news... Semi official - xda-developers

HEY! JUST ROOTED REVOLUTION ENTIRELY DIFFERNT WAY! Theres a root kit for lg esteem, download it on computer, have zte z4root installed and ready to click root on phone. Hook phone to computer usb cable. Hit enter when esteem kit says waiting on device, wait 3 seconds and hit permanent root on z4 screen. Give it a minute and it will say DONE ENJOY! I ran across this strictly by accident. Hope it helps
