On my iPhone I could mark an event on calendar and set 2 alarms.How can I do that now?

On the web, go to the event in your Google Calendar. By default, you can set one email and one pop-up, but you can change that or add more as you wish.

like mentioned above you can do it from web. or from mobile app you click on the event and under reminder section click add reminder.

not sure if previous calendar app had it but google released the app to market and that definitly has this option. i just checked
