Why are there delivery problems? Terrible HTC Marketing communications. There are romours, but nothing from HTC except "it will be worth the wait". They don't realize that the masses don't read posts here. They will simply will be presented a galaxy 4, HTC One, or maybe wait a month for an iPhone 5S at their local cell store..
The audio and the resolution are the main attractions besides a NICE build.
I don't understand the delays from launch, reviews, and availability . I ran out of time and used an upgrade and ended up getting a Galazy S3 (for resale)- WHEN IS IT AVAILABLE ?

HTC needs to be clear and sell the advantages. They are not Apple at this time, and can't count on buyers waiting.

what exactly is your question ? reviewers always get phones early, consumers wait until they make enough to ship, that's how it works with electronics cars and anything else you can think of

Yep. And don't forget that nobody has the US version yet. All of the reviewers over here are using the European versions on US GSM networks.

The wait time from reviewer to consumer is usually less than a week or DAY from Non Disclosure _Too long a delay... My point is they ( and Blackberry last year) are missing a HUGE opportunity. I work with manufactured IP goods, and understand the process. I HOPE to get some answers, or "push" the PR announcements into giving definitive dates, and WE will see if this phone lives up to the hype- and the botched launch!

wrong t-mobile showed off their htc one and the speeds its gets, so there is a us version

There will be at least three U.S. versions. But that's not what we're talking about here. Nobody has had a U.S. version for review.

(And don't get me started on the ridiculousness of speed tests at something like an event to announce your new LTE network.)

Of course there's a US version. There are several version for the US and Canada. But we're talking about the units that reviewers are using. Nobody is using the T-Mo version for their reviews. Not yet, anyway. Personally I'm hoping to get some data on the Sprint version.

Er, but that was just a couple of days ago that we got first glimpse at that - plus of course carriers are going to have a few phones pre-release, just like HTC had them in mid-February, I would be really worried if they didn't.

I don't know what world you live in but I can't remember the last time I've seen a phone in the hands of reviewers only a week before launch. HTC has clearly stated what is going on, that they have had delays due to manufacturing the camera sensor and the chassis. On top of this, I don't believe they ever set a solid release date after the phone was announced so there is really nothing to be angry about. If you can't be patient and wait a month for a decent product then maybe you shouldn't be buying it.

Also, "Every reviewer has "one", but consumers wait?", You claim to understand the process so understanding the difference in numbers should be easy. How many review models do you think they sent out? Couple Hundred? That's a drop in the bucket compared to the thousands they will need to stock stores for a proper launch, so they can wait and sure up the numbers or they can let them trickle out and have thousands of pissed off people checking stores every day to see if their stock is in.

EDIT: By this reasoning I should also see Galaxy S4's on the shelf at my local wireless store.

Mentioned this on the podcast last week -- it's just as frustrating for us. I'm tired of talking *at* everybody about the HTC One. Want to talk *with* you guys about it!

Hurry up, HTC! :)

My late night start to this thread may not be eloquent, but at the press conference to introduce The One in February HTC said they would be in our US hands by the end of March. Now it's "April". Some say May. The reviewers use it for a week or two, and when it's ready to release post their reviews. So, it was expected by now.
I based by recent phone upgrade on it being available by what they announced to exchange if needed. Now I will have to pay full price if I want it, because they didn't deliver. iFixit now has teared it down, I bet it's been "blended". It would be nice if they could narrow down delivery to a 7-10 day period by now. That's all.
